Beginning French-101
Beginning French 101 is mainly designed for beginners who have started to learn the language by themselves or have had beginner classes berfore.
Level 102 is a good level to start with if you have some knowledge of French. If you are unsure
which course is appropriate for you, please contact us so that we can help you in your class selection.
The 101 and 102 courses are based on the AF Frames (French American Educational Standards - Cadre de Reference Européen).

Course description: You will learn the sounds of the language and pronunciation,
basic vocabulary (how to greet people, introduce yourself, ask for information,
talk about yourself) and basic grammar rules (present tense verbs, masculine and
feminine).
This course does include short discussions in a relaxed and fun atmosphere!
Prerequisite: This class is for people who have some limited familiarity with French. This is a follow on
course to AFTally's Basic French class.
Material required: Textbook Alter Ego 1 (includes a workbook and CD) can be obtained at an additional cost
from the Association. Please contact the
Director of Academic Programs for additional information.
Note that this book will be used for this class as well as follow on classes with AFTally
(Beginning French 102, 103 etc...).
